Alright, folks! Time to read!
Before any pencil touches paper details of the work, composition, and pricing must be discussed. Things can change as the project goes but a general idea must be agreed upon for things to run smoothly as possible.
Any reference you have may be helpful! Your own doodles, some photos you like, images from "character makers", inspirations from a show or movie.
Prior to placing an order, please allow for a minimum of 2 weeks for delivery.
Any order that is needed in less time may be subject to rush delivery fees.
The Process:
Note:
This is a general idea of how things will progress. Since each project is unique, these steps may not be the same.
Sketching:
All projects begin with rough sketches to get a handle on the concept and what the final composition will look like.
Lining:
Once a final sketch is established it is cleaned up and prepared for line art if needed. (digital "paintings" typically skip this step as it's not necessary)
Color development:
Once a sketch is approved (and lining is done) it's time to work on colors. Develop the overall palette for the work, either potential colors gathered on the side or a rough test pass over everything.
4 The Real Work Begins
When everything is ironed out I can focus on getting everything completed. As I make major progress or just periodically I will send updates.
- Completion!
Congratulations, one last call for minor changes and approval and you my friend have a completed commission ready to enjoy!
Note: There is a check in with the client at the end of each phase, the next phase cannot begin until the work of the previous one was approved.
