Custom Character Commission (Personal Use Only)
COMMISSIONS ARE CURRENTLY OPEN
Thank you for considering my illustration services for your art commission! Please note that this is a listing for a DIGITAL PRODUCT - so you will not receive a physical item.
Bring your D&D / OC (original character) character to life with a bespoke illustration in a fun fantasy style to use in your games or share on your socials! An excellent gift idea for friends and family, or a treat for yourself.
Before commissioning one of my pieces, please read through my Terms of Service, which will explain all the pertinent details regarding payments, refunds, and the commission process.
Note that the commissions offered here, and these Terms of Service, are for artworks for PERSONAL USE only. If you wish to enquire about COMMERCIAL artwork (such as book covers and illustration, games, publications), please send me an email (emilydigitalart [at]gmail.com).
Don’t forget to send me visual references for your commission. Commissions without references are accepted, but are priced differently as they are considered original design work – if that is your preference, please get in touch with me to discuss.
For very complex or detailed commissions, please email me to discuss the details before you commission the piece.
Product and Work Process
• This is a commission option for digital art: the final product you will receive will be a digital image (JPEG/PNG), sent to you via the email address that you have provided or through a download link. The image will be 300 dpi or higher.
• I am not offering physical prints of commissions at present.
• Custom commissions are welcome – please email me to enquire.
• The art style of your commission will be the same as displayed in the samples. I do not undertake commissions in the style of other artists.
• Simple neutral backgrounds (single or dual colour) are free of charge and included in the base price of colour commissions (see examples).
• More complex backgrounds are charged separately – please see my price list or contact me if you are unsure.
• Please note that elaborate weapons and equipment, vials and scrolls, pets/familiars, magic/atmospheric effects, packs and shields, wings and elaborate horns/antlers cost extra depending on complexity.
• I have a queue system for commissions. Once I have accepted your commission, and your payment has been confirmed, I will let you know your place in the queue. Following this, I will let you know when I am about to begin work on your commission.
• Please send me any references and descriptions/details about your character after purchase, and before I start work on your commission.
• After I have begun your commission, I will keep you updated on its progress, and there will be stages at which you will be able to make certain changes.
• I will always email you to let you know that I have begun work on your commission, and then I will send you an initial watermarked sketch for your approval. You may send me requested changes at this stage (see Changes and Corrections).
• I will then send you a watermarked flat colour version, where you can make minor changes/ additions.
• Once the piece has been completed, I will send you the full resolution image.
Deadlines
• I will do my best to complete your commission as soon as possible. My schedule varies every month, and you can check your place in the commission queue on my Trello board (Emily's Commissions Progress Board | Trello). I will not use your real name in the queue – you can request a reference name or character name – otherwise, I will use initials.
• Once I have received the details and information for your commission, I will let you know an approximate time-span to its completion. The time it takes to complete my commission depends on my schedule and the complexity of your commission, but generally, it will take between 1-8 weeks.
• If you have a firm or urgent deadline for your commission (such as for birthday gifts), please let me know, and I will do my best to accommodate you. This must be discussed prior to my starting work on your commission.
• I reserve the right to charge an additional fee for very urgent projects.
• Prices are subject to change based on demand.
• Please note that I live in the UK, so there may be a delay in my responses due to time-difference.

If you are unsure about whether I would be able to assist you with a particular commission, please feel free to email me with any questions.
What I don’t draw.

• I reserve the right to turn down a commission if the subject matter lies outside my strengths as an artist, if the project is too complex, if my commission are closed due to a full schedule, and/or if the subject matter falls into one of the categories that I won’t draw.
Payment
• Please note that the final price of an artwork may be different from my price list depending on the scope, level of detail, complexity, etc. of your commission.
• Payment is upfront via PayPal, or Square. If your commission does not fit any of the categories listed, please contact me first.
• The prices listed for my pieces are in British Pounds (£), and are a minimum estimate.
• Additional characters, pets, complex poses, or elaborate backgrounds are charged at an additional cost. Please keep in mind that the price of the commission may vary due to the difficulty and time required to complete more detailed or larger commissions.
• Crypto payments are not accepted.
Tips
• Any tips you wish to give me are greatly appreciated – if you would like to leave a tip, you can do so either via my PayPal or Square invoice, or via my Ko-Fi page (Ko-fi.com/emilydigitalart )
