1 - About the technical aspects of the illustration
1.1 - The illustration will be done by default in 72 dpi format and in RGB. Unless the client requests a different specification before the illustration starts.
1.2 - The illustrations will be made and sent in digital format. That is to say, in no case they will be printed or delivered in physical format.
2 - Regarding the formal aspects of the illustration
2.1 - The style I will use, by default, is the one presented in the portfolio (lybonn.pb.gallery), however, I will accept suggestions. If you want a different style than the one presented, this should be clarified before starting the commission. If you suggest a change of style, once I have started the work, if I decide to accept the work you want, I will charge you extra for the work done up to that point. If you are not willing to pay extra or I don't want to accept to work in the style you suggest, the work will be cancelled and I will give you a 30% refund only in case I have reached the sketch stage, which I will finish and deliver it to you anyway, if we have already passed the sketch stage no refund will be given.
2.2 - The client should be as clear as possible about what he/she needs, using visual and/or written references, remembering that we are illustrators and not conceptual artists.
2.3 - A more complicated background, a clear linear perspective, and/or an extra or very detailed character will mean a higher fee, however it will not vary much from the standard fee.
3 - About the corrections to the illustration
3.1 - Once you have placed your order with the specifications you want, I will start working on a sketch, to which a screenshot will be sent to you, in order to evaluate it (with a minimum image quality). If you want any changes, this is the time to do it, if you don't do it at this moment, then we will have to increase the price due to the time invested.
3.2 - Once the corrections are done (if any), I will start working on the color process to better define the elements present. Also if you have in mind to change any aspect of the color in the illustration, you must do it before approving the color preview that will be sent to you, if you want a change once approved this step we will have to increase the price of the illustration due to the time invested.
3.3 - The client has a maximum of two free corrections, these on the other hand, will not be in large size but in small details, so we will not change the structure of the whole drawing without charging an extra (ie, there will not be a complete change of pose, clothing, background, etc., without charging an extra amount, depending on the magnitude of the change).
4 - About the delivery of the artwork
4.1 - The finished artwork will be sent by the chosen contact format.
5- About payments
5.1 - I will start working on the illustration once the job has been marked as paid.
6- About refunds
6.1 - You can cancel your order within 48 hours with a 90% refund if I haven't started your illustration yet. If I have already started with your artwork or more than 48 hours have passed, I'm afraid the refund will not be available.
6.2 - If I fail to complete an assignment, due to personal issues, a full refund will be given.
7 - Extras
7.1 - I have the right to use the assignments to promote my work, unless otherwise requested by the client.
7.2 - I have the right to modify the assignments to promote my work.
7.3 - The approximate delivery time of the illustration is approximately 15 days, it may be a little more or a little less.
7.4 - If the client does not keep in touch after one month from the first payment, I will send him/her the approved (or not) sketch in high quality, and he/she loses the right to continue with the order and to ask for a refund. The sketch will be sent to the chosen contact format.
7.5 - If the client does not maintain contact after one month from the deposit of the full payment (if the client chooses to pay the order in full), I will start to complete the order and the client will lose the right to request any kind of change and to ask for a refund. The order will be sent to the chosen contact format.
7.6 - All orders are for personal use, if the client wants to use them for commercial purposes, an extra 60% will be added.
7.7 - By marking the job as paid, it is understood that the customer agrees to the terms and conditions written in this section.

When I initially approached the artist (artists?) regarding a commission for a book cover, I didn't really have much of an idea of exactly what I wanted, only that it was probably going to be a little more complex than the picture in the sample. They were very patient and very responsive to messages, providing me with quotes. This made it a lot easier to plan out what I wanted. Throughout the process the artist was highly receptive to changes and ideas and very happy to make small tweaks to the design.
In terms of artwork, the style is very beautiful and has nice detail without looking cluttered. If you are looking for a piece with nice scenery in it, the artist produces very beautiful scenery. I commissioned a piece set in the desert and the swirling sand effect was amazing. The artist really pays attention to references and colour palettes and although there was a little bit of interpretation on a few bits, that was on me rather than the artist. The character the artist drew for me also looks great, and whilst I only commissioned one character, I can tell that the artist is able to create faces that look unique and different from one another.
A brilliant artist with beautiful work, and very good value! I really recommend them and will definitely be coming back for more!

I have been going to this artist for a year. Each time i believed I was a simple client and any artist I commission I never protest price adjustments or payment, anything like that. I respect artists a great deal, especially Lybonn who I’ve been going to very faithfully. There was one large piece I asked him to do once, a wedding piece for my 2 characters in a game that was enormously detailed. He informed me he’s never done a painting of that magnitude and offered me a price range that he would let me choose from - I picked the highest price just because I adore him and his art, and honestly if I had more to give I would give it to him.
I’ve spent an extortionate amount of money with this artist and go to him frequently. Recently, I went to him with my last drawing - my friend wanted a couples piece with my OC, so since I praise him and his art so often she wanted it painted by him. I said of course yes! He’ll be happy to do it, and he was. I provided him with an Imgur link with many references for exactly what we wanted, with descriptions too, and how we’d like them posed (which I described in writing that it was slightly different than the pose reference picture, I wrote it out). He sends me the structure of the drawing and it wasn’t right.
No big deal I thought, it’s easy to miss or misinterpret especially if the artist has other commissions going on at the same time. He had to change it about 4 times before it was right. It was a large and expensive piece, I wanted this to be perfect and correct for my friend who was so excited for it. So, he moved onto the sketching phase and showed me.
I didn’t request any huge changes. But he missed several details that, again, I had wrote out in the link as well as the references when I commissioned him. It was very small details like a design of a snake in one of the characters armor, and for the second character in the painting he drew her without shoes. Now, I didn’t specify I wanted her barefoot. I also didn’t ask for any fancy shoes to be drawn or anything like that. In the setting of the picture though, it sort of made no sense as to why she wouldn’t have shoes. I asked him to put shoes on. That’s ALL I asked of him. He informed me that he’ll make the changes but any other changes (even if they are small like what I had asked) he will tack on extra feees… like what? I’ve worked with many other artists extensively, and in the sketching phase even big details should be changed if it’s not correct or not the client wants. This was a big, expensive piece of art work. I am already paying quite a lot. Of course we are going to make sure all of our bases are covered.
I was a bit taken aback, especially since this artist knows me, knows how often I commission him, and how many people I’ve sent to him because I love his art so much. I simply said okay, thank you for the update, and waited for another update. The next one came in color. Again… Lybonn ignored (or forgot) the colors I had chosen for both of their outfits. It seemed at this point he skimmed over the link and didn’t refer back to it again. I understand this is how artists make their money, and that sometimes they might rush. But I gently corrected him again on colors.
As everyone knows, a lot of details become much more bold and visible when color comes into the picture. So I noticed two things that I didn’t notice in the sketching phase; one of the characters ears was a little fat, and her lips were too puckered, like she had just sucked on a lemon. I asked for this to be changed, as well as the colors adjusted.
He then told me he’ll fix the colors and that was his mistake, but since I didn’t catch those two small details I wanted changed in the sketching phase, he wanted 5 more dollars to correct them. At this point it just felt like he was being a little petty, and stingy. Again I have never argued with an artists price adjustments, this is their work. But this was just silly to me, and I was just a little confused on why he was being so extreme with the tiny details that I could fix on a photo editing app if I wanted to, I just didn’t think I should or would have to given everything I have said above.
Unfortunately I just felt I wasn’t treated as a client would. Lybonn is an incredibly talented artist and I love his work, but I won’t be returning again after this. :(
