I'll go to great lengths to make my clients happy — if you're not satisfied, I haven't done my job. That said, I don't appreciate being jerked around; clear requests will get you far with me. If you know exactly what you want, it will be my pleasure to design it for you! If you want to leave it up to my artistic license, it will also be my pleasure to design for you... but don't waste both our time nitpicking my efforts to only tell me what you don't want. Clear communication and respect for my vision will keep us both happy.
How this works: we discuss your design, and agree to a concept and a price price, I will keep sketching your design until you're happy with it. At that point, you'll pay me half the agreed price, and I will continue working until the picture is done, periodically giving you updates (how frequently depends on the complexity of the design). Once we both agree that the image is finished, you pay me the rest of the price, and I email you the completed files (high resolution, printable, whatever we've agreed on). If at any point after the sketch is agreed on, you want to change something major about the design, my redraw fee is 1/3 the total cost of the design, subject to higher if the redraw changes the composition of the piece.
I do not do refunds on any portion of my fee that has already been paid, unless I am unable to finish the picture within a reasonable amount of time (example: a death in my family, a life threatening illness).
